Cio D´Or

Soundarchitect - Music creator - Composer - DJ

Cio D´Or moves

Her music arise from an idea, which she develops and threads through her own sounds: Emotional, extravagant, charismatic, cinematic, sometimes poetic. Her music strives towards "infinity" between origin and development. Here, timeless possibilities sounding out from the zeitgeist.

Her dj sets and mixes filtering to track down deep and authentic musical developments amongst the mass of music and records without forgetting the gems of the past. With the participation of musical sources, Cio D´Or mirrors the new in the old andvice versa, immersed in the deep grammar of music - leaving this again and allow the sound to live, to resonate now and on through times. She is a dramatic advisor in her style techno and electronica.

Cio started 2001 as a resident dj in Munich´s former cult club Ultraschall. Later she established herself consistently on national and international floor´s with her emotive, almost magical sets. She doesn´t play music, she lives it.

Cio D´Or - the little multiplication table.

Already in childhood, Cio D´Or felt the sounds and tonality of many different instruments. At the age of 17, she was playing in a 7 man-strong Jazz band; at 21, she founded her own dance duo with self-developed choreography, which she first off compiled with classical music (i.e. Bartok, Strawinsky, Bach). With this work, she discovered her first access into electronic music, through Brian Eno and David Byrne.

During the Eighties, Cio D´Or lived in Berlin, where she completed her training in Contemporary Dance and Ballet; learning, among other things, the discipline of keeping time that her works portrays.

Engagements in art, theatre and film followed.

It was time. Not only for more Dub by Cio D´Or, but especially for more time. Her clock ticks differently - in Dub - and with the first ambient dub techno 10 inch "Ur & Uhr" released on the label Telrae.

Cio D´Or is also expanding her "life study" of sound creations and techniques: well-tempered classical, symphonic, but also dissonant bodies of sound and on top of that, techno rhythms and sounds, attempting to give them that "D´Or-esque" spirit and soul.

Cio D´Or always remains a seeker.
